Dr. Gwendolyn Hustvedt a World Wool Traveler

The North Atlantic is home to breeds of sheep thousands of years older than "modern merino". Better suited to the harsh and sea swept environment that supports them, they have a distinctive role in local textile economies. Norway, the United Kingdom and the Faroe Islands are on Dr Hustvedt's travel itinerary this fall as she takes her Developmental Leave. Her goal, to reset her research agenda to pull in new topics, such as the marketing of knitting yarn, and new collaborators, such as faculty at Oslo and Arskerhus University of Applied Science and Heriot Watt University.
