Licensing & Standards

The Child Development Center (CDC) is a NAC Accredited childcare facility, licensed by the Department of Family and Protective Service (DFPS) since 1977. 

We are also a Texas Rising Star (TRS) 4-Star Vendor. Texas Rising Star provides professional development resources and mentoring to sustain and improve the quality of early childhood environments at TRS certified programs.

The CDC not only encompasses the NAC and TRS standards along with the DFPS licensing requirements, we also exceed them by requiring:

• Lower teacher to child ratios in the classrooms
• More mandatory trainings and Professional Development courses for childcare staff
• Annual and bi-annual program assessments
• Higher education and experience requirements for childcare staff
