Student Nutrition Organization

The Student Nutrition Organization of Texas State University provides opportunities for all students to be involved in discussions and activities related to nutrition. Any Texas State University student interested in nutrition is welcome to join.

 

Our objectives are:

  • To acquaint students with all professional practice areas in dietetics and the nutrition field
  • To broaden the scopes of educational experience through various nutritional related activities
  • To provide opportunities for members to become familiar with the American and Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic associations
  • To provide sound nutrition information to help the community
  • To stimulate sound nutrition practices among peers

Meetings 


Meetings are held regularly throughout the fall and spring semesters. Dates and times of meetings are subject to change each semester. Most meeting feature a different guest speaker. Please email sno@txstate.edu for more information.

 

Become a Member!

 

You may become a member by providing your NetID and membership dues ($10 per semester) to our officers at our weekly meetings, the SNO Café, or on Venmo. If you pay your dues on Venmo, be sure to include your NetID in the comments section.

  • SNO Café:  Learn how to make nutritious food, manage a food cart, and gain volunteer experience at the SNO Café! All profits from our food sales go towards TAND scholarships for our active members, social events, various organizations that provide relief (e.g., Food Bank, Red Cross).
