Nutrition and Foods program at Texas State offers a variety of degree tracks to meet student educational and career goals. At the undergraduate level, the Dietetics track prepares students to seek the Registered Dietitian credential. This track is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Students who complete this degree track obtain a Verification Statement, qualifying them to apply to a dietetics internship. In addition to the traditional 4-year degree plan, an accelerated, 3-year degree plan is also offered for the Dietetics track. The Nutrition with a Minor track appeals to students with a strong interest in nutrition and another field. Students major in Nutrition and minor in the second field to pursue a variety of careers in nutrition, food management, community nutrition, and wellness. Our third track, teacher certification, prepares students to teach nutrition and foods -related courses at the middle and high school levels. At the graduate level, we offer a MS in Human Nutrition with thesis and non-thesis options as well as an ACEND accredited Dietetic Internship.
