Student Nutrition Organization

The Student Nutrition Organization of Texas State University provides opportunities for all students to be involved in discussions and activities related to nutrition. Any Texas State University student interested in nutrition is welcome to join.

Our objectives are:

  • To acquaint students with all professional practice areas in dietetics
  • To broaden the scopes of educational experience through various nutritional related activities
  • To provide opportunities for members to become familiar with the American and Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic associations
  • To provide sound nutrition information to help the community
  • To stimulate sound nutrition practices among peers

Meetings are held regularly throughout the fall and spring semesters. Dates and times of meetings are subject to change each semester. For the Spring 2019 semester, we will have meetings every Tuesday at 5:00pm in room 135.  Every meeting features a different guest speaker.

All profits from our food sales go towards TAND scholarships for our active members, social events, various organizations that provide relief (e.g., Food Bank, Red Cross) and our garden.
